Robotic line

A new Lattuada-Knittel robotic solution offers one polisher and one robot on a track. This specific line is dedicated to customers that would like to increase the automation level of their edging department. A new feature is a device to control the correct position of the edge of the glass. The customer can load the glasses on the rack even without using a reference/zero point, just roughly in the middle of the rack. So when turning it 90° the bottom edge can be a little bit higher/lower compared to the standard zero line. This is the task of this new device, to check, before loading the glass, the real position of the edge to have a safe and smooth loading. The robot handling the glasses is not fixed on the floor but running at very high speeds on a dedicated track. The construction of the rack enable the robot to reach a maximum speed of 2.35 m/s. The line can be operated just by an operator who only has to load a rack and start the line, all glasses will be automatically grinded on four sides and unloaded on another rack or sent into a washer. The line can communicate with the operator through a pager.

Stationary louver

Louver type K604 featuring a 4-inch frame depth and louver type K606 featuring a 6-inch frame depth are extruded aluminum stationary louvers that are ideal for applications that require intake and exhaust ventilation with moderate protection against water penetration. Their design incorporates non-drainable blades, sloped sill, and hidden vertical mullions when configured as multiple sections wide. Licensed to bear the AMCA seal for Water Penetration and Air Performance, the K604 and K606 can be specified up to a maximum single section size of 120 inches wide by 120 inches high. A variety of options, accessories, and architectural finishes are available.

Dross box

The dross box is is the interface and sluice between the tin bath and annealing lehr. Grenzebach's dross box is individually driven, height-adjustable and includes lift-out rollers that enable a flexible curve geometry, improved glass quality through a more homogeneous distribution of temperature across the entire width of the glass, and simpler maintenance and a local, decentralized control system. The Grenzebach dross box can master this tricky process step thanks to innovative technology. Valuable process improvements are achieved with customizable roller technology, special roller sealing and safe maintenance options.

Annealing lehr

Grenzebach's new annealing lehr adapts the cooling capacity exactly as required. Individually controllable sections are a major step forward and increase flexibility at the annealing point. This provides users with new options to achieve the ideal glass tension for a wide range of production scenarios. The new design and improved cooling technology offer powerful added values and also result in significantly reduced energy consumption. This also includes increased occupational safety and optimized maintenance possibilities.
